Job Role:
Summary: Cooking & Cleaning
1. Plan the meal preparation according to the order.
2. Obey all food safety and sanitation laws a) Wash all the vegetables, fruits and other washable food before cooking. b) Clean every equipment before and after cooking. c) Store food and other items safely and in a Cleanly way
3. Always maintain the quality of dishes you prepare. I.e. tastefulness, Cleanliness, Appearance of the food etc.
4. Keep a track record & a check list of each item of ingredients and if there are no items in the stock order from the relevant seller.
5. Usually keep a safety stock.
6. Identify the nature of the ingredients & order accordingly.(for an example identify the perishable items & nonperishable items & understand how long it can be kept in the stock, it is better to identify the life cycle of each item and maintain the stocks.
7. Coordinate with hotel manager in every day and make a list of items that are unavailable and thereafter coordinate with the seller to order the relevant items on time.
8. Personal responsibility is key-, it is your job to maintain company standards and ensure that you are always doing your best.
Experience & Skills Required:
• At least three years working experience as a cook at a hotel.
• Ability to prepare eastern and western food
• Ability to prepare the food cost
• Ability to minimize the food cost
• Minimizing the guests complains with regard to food
• Maintaining the trade standards with regard to food
